Teletrac Navman Review: TN360’s Layout
Teletrac Navman’s TN360 platform has a user-friendly interface from the first look. On the main home page, under the dashboard tab, you are presented with a real-time overview of how many vehicles are active, the number of drivers logged in, and view alerts via widgets on the screen.
Below this, you can also view and interact with the map pane which shows all the vehicles in your fleet at a glance. Clicking on vehicle icons brings up data about that specific vehicle, so you know exactly what vehicle it is, which driver is associated with it, and its precise last updated location (and when that last update occurred). For a vehicle on the move, you’ll also be able to see the vehicle’s speed and direction.

Next to the dashboard tab is a ‘cameras‘ tab, which shows your integrated dashcams that are active alongside a static image of their field of view at the time of loading the page. It’s pretty convenient to switch tabs and get a snapshot of which cameras are working, and what sort of view they have, in case any aren’t active or showing as you might expect. By making it a second tab rather than the primary one, it doesn’t presume everyone will have dashcams on their Teletrac Navman account, either.
Most fleet software I’ve used hasn’t provided as quick and direct access to dashcams either, save from GPS Insight which has a link to dashcam tools via its homepage, so if your businesses use them regularly this is a useful organisational structure.

Overall, I’d say opting for the dashboard as the introductory home page makes a lot of sense. The layout has all the critical information front and centre, which I believe should help speed up decision-making and efficient fleet management.
Looking at other fleet management software home pages, Verizon Connect drops you into its map tool directly, GPS Insight displays a list of frequently used tools and Quartix just displays its logo on a clean, white interface. What you prefer will inevitably come down to your specific oversight requirements as a fleet manager. However, I think Teletrac Navman’s dashboard of quick stats, alongside a map, might be the most useful of all since it supplies instant access to the information you’ll likely want to know after logging in.
And given you have easy access to all Teletrac Navman’s other tools down its static left-hand sidebar, a list of other tools isn’t required on the home page itself. This nav bar is present on any page you visit, so you always have links to where you need to go, and has eight sections: tracking, messaging, insights, reports, vehicle maintenance, EasyDocs, journey planner, and fatigue.
Having this sort of navigation bar is expected, although arguably implementing sub-sections might be preferred to get to more complex tools a little bit faster. Relatedly, Quartix is still the fastest interface in terms of loading speed compared to what we’ve seen with Teletrac Navman.
Teletrac Navman Review: Features on TN360
Teletrac Navman TN360 offers a well-rounded suite of features designed to enhance fleet efficiency, safety, and compliance. Below, we break down some of its key tools, their functionality, and our thoughts about them.
Map and vehicle tracking tools
As you will expect of any vehicle management tool, Teletrac Navman TN360 allows for live tracking of your fleet. Clicking on the ‘Tracking’ module in the left-hand navigation will take you to this page. There is a split display of a table of the latest driver trips on the left-hand side and a map of vehicle positions on the right.
You can filter the table and map by fleet type, ignition status, vehicle, driver, or location.

Clicking on any of the trips will take you to a ‘Trip Summary‘ page. Here, you’ll have a pleasant, visual walk-through of the trip details, showing important events related to fleet performance, such as ignition start, idling, and any entries/exits of geofenced locations represented as icons with text, alongside specific details around where these actions have taken place and when.
On the right-hand side, the map overlayed the route overlayed on the map display, zoomed in to show the whole route. You can see both in the image below.

Clicking the ‘Drone View’ button in the top-right corner of the table brings up a birds-eye view of a vehicle’s movement (both past and present), so you can ride along with them. This can be useful for advising drivers about specific exits they should take or viewing where the location of lost/stolen assets after an event occurs.
Not all fleet management software I’ve used has this ‘follow along’ feature for live viewing, which is handy for advice and a welcome tool in terms of interactivity. Though most other software I’ve used does have a ‘route replay’ tool to view past trips in a similar style.

Safety tools and scorecards
Dropping into the ‘Safety‘ tab of the Tracking page, you’ll find trips that have triggered alerts in the system for various reasons, such as speeding. Clicking on an event opens up additional details about that incident, including location, duration, and severity.
Most notably, inside speeding events, you can scroll down to see how speed correlates with elevation changes in the area, gathering context on these actions so that you get a full picture of why this might have happened before chastising your drivers.
From the vehicle management software I’ve tested, this isn’t something I’ve come across before and the way it is employed is very simple to understand. I think it adds valuable detail around driver actions, where normally you only get changes in speed across the route with the likes of Quartix, which doesn’t tell the full story.

A safety feature I thoroughly enjoy is Teletrac Navman TN360’s Driver Scorecards. They essentially act as report cards that assess driver behaviours such as speed, acceleration, braking, cornering, revving, and idle time.
Drivers are ranked based on these metrics, thereby allowing fleet managers to identify high-risk drivers and areas for improvement. You can configure metrics thresholds to levels of your choosing, depending on where you want to draw the line on certain behaviours.
At the top of the page, you have colour-coded widgets that indicate the overall scores for your fleet as an average over a certain period, while the rankings sit below them in a table with greater detail. In the table, small arrow indicators show where changes have occurred over time so you know the general sea of change without diving into an analysis of the data.

Should you want greater insight into specific driver performance, clicking on a profile within the Scorecards section lets you do just that. You’ll get to visualise a driver’s metrics with the same color-coded widgets and arrows that summarise total fleet performance and any changes, alongside a trend graph to show how all a driver’s metrics have developed over time compared to one another.

Teletrac Navman TN360 isn’t alone in offering these succinct driver scorecards at both fleet and driver levels, with GPS Insight and Verizon Connect also supplying these helpful summaries of driver safety. However it’s still worth highlighting, as it is a great feature not all providers, such as Quartix, bring to the table.
Drivers also have access to a mobile application on their in-vehicle device, where they can view their overall score, progress, and detailed information on individual metrics. That way, drivers can keep tabs on their driving performance, with this transparency hopefully helping encourage improvement over time, too.

Again, this isn’t a unique feature with Verizon Connect also providing drivers with its Reveal Driver mobile app for the same purpose. However, without an app in place, drivers may not be motivated to improve or simply be able to reflect on how safe their driving is at all.
Fatigue tools and ELD compliance
Another aspect of safety that Teletrac Navman TN360 covers is fatigue. With a dedicated Tachograph Fatigue Management module in the navigation bar, something I’ve not seen with other fleet management tools, it provides detailed reports on driver performance in a similar style to the TN360 Scorecards, though with a focus on driving time per cycle.
This is to make sure your fleet adheres to UK laws around working hours per week. TN360 automatically records driving hours, rest periods, and duty statuses based on vehicle movement/status logging via your drivers. This automation should also help prevent driver fatigue through the enforcement of mandatory rest breaks and limiting maximum driving times.
Any drivers at risk of violation or already in violation are displayed on the page, and fleet managers can analyze other patterns to identify which drivers should be taken out of duty or are otherwise exempt.

Teletrac Navman attempts to help drivers take the right rest breaks via another app called Sentinel. Incorporating UK fatigue management laws, as well as helpful checklists for tasks before setting off and after stopping, the app should help drivers stay compliant and above all, safe on the roads.

SmartJobs
Apart from safety measures, something not always included with fleet management tools is a job management tool. However, with TN360, its SmartJobs hub looks to streamline the process of job allocation and execution for drivers and field engineers by digitising the process within your integrated fleet management hub (keeping you from jumping between software or using sometimes imperfect third-party integrated tools).

In practice, dispatchers can create and assign multi-step work schedules or one-off jobs to drivers. Drivers will then receive turn-by-turn navigation instructions to each job location to make sure for timely arrival.
The SmartJobs app also facilitates proof of delivery through signature capture and photo documentation, which is instantly shared with the back-office team for invoicing and record-keeping purposes.

Back on the full TN360 software, real-time updates to dispatchers and other home office workers mean there is complete visibility into job status and progress on both sides.
Better yet, the system automates customer notifications via SMS and email should you want to set that up. This will keep your clients informed about estimated times of arrival and job status.

Vehicle maintenance
Another notable section of the TN360 software important for your fleet safety and overall cost savings is its vehicle maintenance section.
Here, you can create and assign maintenance schedules based on metrics like odometer readings, engine hours, or fixed time intervals so that each vehicle, or any other assets, has a timely servicing.

You can swiftly find the overdue maintenance tasks by switching tabs on the maintenance page. But you’ll also receive instant notifications for upcoming or overdue maintenance tasks whenever those metric levels are breached so that you can prevent minor issues from escalating into major ones.
As part of this maintenance system, each vehicle will grow a detailed electronic record of all completed maintenance activities, including dates, responsible personnel, costs, and associated documentation. That’s important for understanding the exact health of your fleet and spotting any recurring issues with certain vehicles. That’s not quite as advanced as Verizon Connect which automatically spots these trends, but it’s still welcome that all these details are recorded.

Within this tracking of maintenance tasks, you can also input pricing so that the total cost of ownership, including expenses from any repairs, can help you make informed decision-making regarding vehicle replacements.
Insights
Next up, we have the Insights module, designed to transform real-time data into actionable intelligence.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of this section is that you can have a natural language search bar to input queries you might have in everyday language. For instance, questions like “Show me fuel consumption by vehicle for the past 7 days” will produce graphics or other relevant information.
In an age of AI search engines and AI adoption more generally (including AI in fleet management), this is a smart feature which should make finding relevant information for even the most tech-illiterate of fleet managers an easier task than it otherwise would be.

Below the search bar, you have several pre-built insights for easy access, such as the ‘bottom five per cent of utilised vehicles’ or ‘fuel consumption trends per month’. For regular use, this should increase the speed at which you can jump into different insights rather than typing out a query every time.
After searching or clicking on an item, a graphic such as below will appear. By clicking on the graph, you can drill down into the data further, altering the graph to break it up based on criteria such as vehicle type.

TN360 has appealing customer support availability, with 24/7 phone (for urgent needs) and online contact form support (for slower-paced help) to deal with any queries you might have.
On the downside, it doesn’t have any help articles to explain the software in-depth. Still, using the contact form box can give you the specific answers you need if it’s a query they have had before.
